Tips for 10/22 Mags?

Anyone know of any secrets to stock Ruger 10/22 magazines. I wear one of these suckers out inside a year.

Anyone have any tips? Any aftermarket mags last? Ramline and Butler Creek last only a few range sessions with me.

What do you mean by wearing one out and are you talking about the factory ones or the plastic lipped aftermarket ones??

As far as the steel lipped factory ones, I know they get really dirty inside and that will cause extra drag on the spring which leads to problems. They can be taken apart easily and cleaned and then retensioned properly. I have read good things about the Hot Lips by Butler Creek as far as the plastic lipped versions go.

The best tick i've learned is to take the whole rifle to a gunshop and trade it for a MARLIN-60. Or if you don't mind a bolt action a CZ-452.

Sheldon, yes, the factory (stock) magazines. I clean them but it does me no good. Within a year they are shot.
