Hey guys, working on a build. stuck between a stag stripped lower or a psa stripped lower. Any thoughts toward either one?? or does anyone have any recomendations on any other stripped lowers. Got a gunshow this weekend just checking to see what i should stay away from or pick up.

Any help would be great.

They are both fine... neither one would be better. Get whichever one is cheaper, or if you like the look of the roll mark on one or the other, go for it.

Don't own a Stag lower but they are known good. I own 4 PSA lowers and they are also good to go. The only question that matters is "In spec?". After that you're shopping/paying for a rollmark that you like or possibly a little bit different final machining (that may or may not have any tangible benefit) or a different finish.

I just finished a Spikes lower and bought another, the first one went together easy and everything works great so far. If the second works out as good as the first I'll be buying a 3rd for myself, the first was for my wife the second is for my son.

I like Spikes stuff but I just cant stand the stupid spider/dueling dongs logo. (If you dont know what Im talking about understand that once some things are seen, they cannot be unseen.)

Apologies to Art's grammaw if that was inappropriate . :uhoh:

I have built 2 ARs with PSA parts and another with mostly PSA parts. 3 PLK's, 2 of their lowers, an upper receiver, a premium BCG and a few other parts. All went together without issue and still runs like new. The finish was good as well and so far has matched the other manufacturers that i have used with the PSA parts.

I just pulled up a picture of the rollmark on Google.

...you're right, it can't be unseen.

:uhoh:

OMG. Googled the rollmark. Never would have made that connection. Now the connection has been seen, well, you're right ... it cannot be unseen. :what: Maybe I'll cleanse my mind by maybe trying to think that it looks like two fingers squeezing a nose to pop a pimple. No, that's not much better at all... :uhoh:

Back to topic, I've heard that Spikes make fine products, though a friend of mine found that the pivot pin holes were just a bit too small on his lower.
