Okay, since Rampart Range is off limits I am in need of a good spot for my friends and me to go shooting (outdoors and sans range Marshal). I know that we are literally surrounded by National Forrest and if we comply with some very legitimate rules we can shoot all day. But I do not know of a good shooting location.

I have heard that there is a good spot near Boulder. Can someone direct me (as best you can) to a good shooting area?

There used to be Left Hand Canyon but they shut that one down a couple years ago.

One of the spots I tend to go to is a little spot on Highway 7.
Basically go up the ways past Longmont up through Lyons and hang a left to get onto H7. Head up past Hall Ranch and all that and keep going past all the RMNP signs and the little group of houses and all that.
You'll go across a bridge and pass a couple of offroad tracks. After that you'll start to come up on a left turn off. Pass that by about 2 min and off on the right hand side is a logging/shooting area. It's kinda clear because they have a number of posted signs about shooting and all that jazz.

Actually, pretty much anywhere along H7 once you pass the RMNP signs is good as long as you keep to the regulations.

Time wise my spot takes about 20mins to get to from northern Longmont.
