Do any of you know a good place to buy reloading supplies in the DFW Metroplex area?

Cabela’s has been a mess for months and bass pro is ridiculous in price I know bass pro bought them out perhaps that’s the problem.

Thanks.

SW Ammunition in Mesquite
B&B in Terrell
GunMaster in Plano

That's all I've got.

What exactly are you looking for?
Basics primers Winchester or CCI by 1k box Winchester & Alliant powders.

Guess Plano would be a little over an hour away but may be worth the trip.

SW Ammunition is who I buy supplies from when they come to the local gun show. They have a huge selection and are competitive priced. If you contact them before a show and give them a order they will hold if for you at the gun show to pick up.

Does anyone know if Elk Castle is still open in Fort Worth? There is also Alpine Range in south Fort Worth. They both have/had pretty extensive reloading supplies... or they did 15 years ago.

Although I don't recommend them, there is Bass Pro in Grapevine just north of DFW airport, I can't imagine they are much worser than Cabelas...?

Also, there is a gun show just about every weekend, usually 2 or 3 of the big reloading vendors are there.

Yeah, “DFW” covers a lot of area and it can take more than an hour just to get from D to FW, even longer from other parts of the metroplex. Need more precise location.

Is Ewell Cross still open in West Ft. Worth? At least that is where I bought my stuff 30 years ago. :)

Nope not open any more

Elk Castle is still around but has really gone downhill....lost a lot of customers

Alpine Range in south Fort Worth is still going strong

I bought my first # of IMR4895 at Elk.... *sniff* ... back when i was just a wee lad. BUT. I did buy my first 8# of Unique at Alpine!

Bridgeport has a pretty descent shop out towards runway bay. Powder is priced OK, bullets Ok price, primers high. I stop in and buy something every time I drive by the place a few times a year. I think it’s “Bridgeport guns and ammo”.

If you need a descent amount of stuff better just call powder valley or make the drive.

Southwest Ammunition in Mesquite often has stuff in stock when others don’t

I didn’t know about B&B. I’ll have to check them out

GunMaster is pretty decent, be aware... they are not open on Monday. Their prices are so-so.

Cabelas rotates their stock... relying on constant resupply. I think you can order stuff online and have it shipped to the store no charge, so it's waiting for you when you get there, I've done that with powder before.

I used to go to Nobel Firearms... they used to be down on Beach St, but it looks like they have moved to a bigger place over off east 820, might be worth a look.

Great I’ll look into it Thanks! I had the day off went by Cabela’s about an hour ago it looked like 2008 lol

No lie. Unlike or river-separated "twin" cities, the two "downtowns" are 42 miles apart. Weatherford to Terrell, about the limits of tv coverage, east-west are 100 miles apart. As are McKinney & Cleburne (aproximate north/south).

Bass Pro prices are much higher than Cabela's on primers and powder.

Getting Cabela's to ship powder to the store must have been a while back. They haven't offered that option for several years. Go ahead and try it. Let us know.

Used to be a place on the west side of dallas called "something" sporting goods and hardware, they sold lots of stuff.
I think its "Rays" hardware and sporting off a wycliffe ave?

Ok guys Thanks for all the Input I found a great place in Weatherford TX called Gibson’s they had all the Alliant and most Hodgdon/ Winchester powders.

Picked up some sport pistol , some 231 & BE86 along with some CCI & Winchester primers. They had the BE86 for 21.99 a pound.

Very nice powder selection even seen Herco and American select and a few others I have not seen in awhile.

When I lived in Benbrook Texas (west side of FW) I made the drive to Southwest Ammunition Supply Co in Mesquite. It was well worth the drive. When there was a W231 powder shortage I was still able to but a 4lb jug from them.
