I want to order an AR15 to a local shop. Where is a good online site to order from? Price is a concern, mose of the local shops are selling cheaper AR15s for $1100 and up.

I'm mostly after a Rock River Arms model.

Also, where is the cheapest place to order a case of .223 right now? Most of the prices I'm seeing are $300 and up for 1000 rounds.

Hiya....

The vendors in this forum are a good place to look for who to place an order with:

Please be aware that there are LONG backorders for ARs these days.

As for the price of ammo, what you are seeing seems about right for the market and climate that we are in.

J&T distributing isn't a bad place either if you are interested in buying your lower separately and assembling it from a kit. I put my lower together in about 45 min and after taking it to the range I was very impressed with the moa groups it was sending down range.

just a thought.

oh, and you will pay less and get more compareed to if you bought a whole rifle.

Definitely Pete at ar15sales.com. As noted before, be prepared for a wait. That is with any vendor these days. My last upper took 21 weeks.

Going out on a limb a bit here (but they have a toll-free number), you might try Town Gun Shop/Town Police Supply in Collinsville VA?
I wasn't in the market, but even after the panic buying started, he got 10 Colt 6920's in and sold 'em all for $1200 (one followed me home at that price).

Collinsville/Martinsville has been a pretty depressed mill town for a number of years-maybe this is why you can find good deals there (bought 2 of my last 3 vehicles there).
Town is high, but does have good sales.

Another possiblity would be Old Dominion Guns & Tackle?-also located in a depressed mill town. No toll free number-he does not order from distributors that jack prices up, so it's pot luck. He got an Armalite M-15 in the other day that he sold for $895, which sat on the shelf for about a week (if I'd been in the market, it would probably have followed me home). He got a number of DPMS after that (also under 1K), but think they're all gone.

Old Dominion usually doesn't dicker on the price-he usually just hangs a lower price on 'em than anyone else around and sells 'em for that price.
