What is a fair price for a used 3rd gen Glock 17? At say a gun show or other means of private sale? What's the most folks here would pay?
Thank Y'all

Wide range here. Depends.

Beat up, shot out, rough condition, zero mags...? $200.

Average used condition, not babied, but shot and perhaps carried? $350-400.

Excellent condition, 2 mags, box, extras, looks unfired? $450-$500.

Professionally upgraded parts, trigger, metal guide rod, extra mags, night sites? $550 or maybe $600 if it's sweet.

A nearly new gen3 G17 with 3 mags popped up on my local Armslist just a couple days ago, for $400 ( I was wishing I needed another Glock). That was cheaper than they typically go for, and it was gone in a couple hours, but deals in this range do show up here and there, but $450-500 is more typical, for a nice one.
CDNN has various new gen3 Glocks in stock at $499, and I believe shipping is only $13, and BudsGunShop might even beat that price (with their free shipping).
Check your local Armslist a few times a day, you'll find one shortly, if one's not sitting there right this minute. ;)

I can get a NIB Gen3 from an LGS for $500.00, and I would prefer a Gen3 17 over a Gen4 anyway.

IMO the used prices quoted are on the high side, very high. Like said above, you can buy a brand new Gen 3 G17 for $500 in most gun shops.

Ditto and I see them for less new.

Armslist usually cranks the price of them up because they know people want to haggle and some people think they have a %90 resale value. Note: some states are more expensive! I see used trade-ins all the time for $350-$375 in good to real good shape with one or 2 mags at my LGS. Besides mags are cheap (especially used ones). I personally would not pay more than $400 for a used one in great shape with 2 mags if I were in the market YMMV . Gen 4 can be had new for $539 in Columbus and Cincinnati, and a brand new gen 3 for $489 in Cincinnati, dealers listing prices.

I just bought a 2nd gen 17 in excellent condition with box, 2 mags, holster and loader for $375 from a person at a gun show . I prefer the 2nd gen over all others but that varies with individual shooters. And so does price.

A couple months ago I sold a Gen 3 G17 that only had a few hundred rounds down the pipe for $400.00.

I thought it was a fair price since a lot of NIB units seem to be at the $500 mark.

FWIW- A quick look on GB shows several new Gen 3's at sub $500 levels. One auction starts at $400 with a BIN of $500.

Let's not forget the prices you see at gun shops and online don't include - where applicable -

Shipping ~ $15-$20
FFL transfers ~ $15-$30
Taxes or use fees (in WA) ~ 10% or $50 on a $500 gun.

So that $400 Glock you find online ends up being closer to $500 when you take it home...

Last year I bought a like new, G17 with factory night sights, 6 high cap magazines, the factory case and accessories plus a carrying case for $500. I would figure $300-$400 for a great condition G17 with 2 mags and regular sites.

FYI, in today's market, used 9mm guns - glocks and otherwise - command a premium over 40 s&w guns. So if you see a Glock 22 really cheap you can't expect the Glock 17 to be similarly priced.
