Hi All-
I've been scouring the net for manufactured and DIY organizers, and am not seeing anything that fits my purpose. I want to store my spare non-metal postol mags on the inside of the door. I want to be able to see them through any solution I buy/make. The door space I have is 42h by 13w. It will need a velcro backing, any ideas?

Thanks, I saw this, and am concerned about the connectors. My safe door may not accept the clips, which is why I am looking for velcro. I may be wrong though.

How about a mesh shoe organizer? Or they are also made in clear plastic. Cheap and see thru, but you will have to come up with a way to mount it. I’m eventually going to put one in my safe, I just have to get around to it.

I’m going to use a couple of self tapping metal screws near the top edge. It won’t be very heavy so it doesn’t need a really strong attachment.

Well, the OP didn’t specify rifle mags...my mind default to pistol mags. I guess the “non-metal” should have clued me in! ;)
I could be totally off too , I don't know. His profile picture suggest rifles and plastic mags suggest the same.
Velcro on a pistol mag would be ludicrous, if that's the application , I retract my suggestion.

Look at motorcycle cargo nets, the ones that stretch across the rear passenger portion of the motorcycle seat. They range in price from $8.00 to $14.00 and can be adjusted and or cut to size. They're made of narrower bungee cord material with a 2" square net pattern and usually measure 15" x 15". Its very stretchy and can be stretched across the top half of the door, can usually stretch up to 30".

The 2" squares can easily be pinched with two fingers to as wide as 4" or 5" to allow you to place and retrieve larger items. They usually come with removable metal or plastic hooks (depending on which one you select). It will hold just about anything against the door such as magazines, pocket holsters, pouches or whatever as long as its stretched tight enough.

I'm making a MOLLE webbing panel for mine and then I'm going to use MOLLE pistol mags with the tops either cut off or tucked in.

I went with this. $7 on ebay. Maybe not tacticool, but I cut it up and hot glued $3 of velcro strips to the back, and it works great. I stored my full self defense mag pouches, non-magnetic pistol mags, and all my holsters. It freed the top shelf completely, thanks for this and all the suggestions!

I went the peg board route too! It works well, just make sure that whatever fasteners you use don't protrude through the door far enough to jam the locking linkage. I went a step further and put a piece of 1/4 inch vacuum line of my pegs.
I mounted pegboard to the inside of my gunsafe doors.

Here is a pic of my north gunsafe from about 15 years ago:

Safe doors offer a lot of possibilities for additional storage. Used fabric covered strip magnets and aluminum straps to hang holsters and knives.
