good self defense ammo

i am looking for some good self defense ammo for my Marlin 1895XLR 45-70 govt. levergun.

so far i have found some hollow point bullets on midwayusa.

For SD stick with the hollow points. You don't want anything that might shoot through and damage someone on the other side. Not that hollow points won't go through... just that the chance is lower.

.45-70 is a huge round and any bullet you will launch will likely have dramatic stopping properties at self defense ranges.
