I am thinking of switching from loading lead to loading jacketed bullets. The only source I have are out of what I want, 9mm. Most of my source deal in lead.

Can someone suggest a place where i could get jacketed bullets to load

I second xtreme. They also have a 5% off coupon every now and then, and flat rate $5 shipping.

Free shipping on your first order too!

The plating becomes the lubricant on a lead core. Properly loaded, you don't get the leading or lube smoke. I have been loading 9mm with plated from RMR. Using their seconds, rarely have any flaws that are visible or affect the shooting.

For FMJ go with PD. I am switching to coated bullets which shoot as well a my FMJ loads for less $. I do not plan on buying another plain lead bullet.

The supplier I use for plain lead is getting into coating, so my exposed lead use may be coming to an end as well. I've heard good things about it.

I buy the fmjs for Glocks. Whether the poly rifling and lead thing is true or not I'd just rather not chance it.

Rocky Mtn Reloading has good products, good service, and free shipping. If anybody wants lead, they are starting to cast their own bullets.

Im with you man. Screw this plated and lead crap. Im going back to FMJ. They just shoot better.

I get mine at powder valley, midway, and that's about it I guess. Im ready for change-you talked me into it.

I was going to order some FMJ's from Precision Delta but it looked like they only sell lots of 1000 so I ended up ordering 500 plated 124gr from Extreme

I only load Xtreme Plated bullets for my 9mm, .40s&w, .38spl, and .45acp loads. I have loaded PD FMJ bullets in the past, but I can't tell a difference in accuracy between the two out of my Glocks, and 1911's.

been using xtreme bullets for 9mm, 40sw and 380 acp. i don't load my rounds fast enough to justify the cost of a jacketed bullet. within the range i shoot replicating factory rounds, they work fine. i cannot tell the difference in accuracy either. shoots about the same as factory ammo.

Extreme bullets are also a good source for .224 55grn. Jacketed. I ordered 500 for $40.

Hey guys, don't forget about TJCONEVERA.COM

They have plated bullets as well as jacketed. I've bought tens of thousands of bullets from them over the years without a single problem. Fast, free shipping for orders of at least $50.

I personally would stay away from Montana Gold Bullets because of a terrible customer service problem that I experienced with them. It was the first and only time I ever had to make a claim on my credit card. In my opinion, I received very bad customer service from Montana Gold Bullets and I would not recommend them as a vendor to anyone looking for bullets.

On the other hand, I could not be more happy with TJCONEVERA and BrassManBrass - they both provided smooth, fast, friendly transactions every time I ordered from either one of them.

Will check out BrassMan never heard of it.

Wow, they "sound" like a good outfit. The brass is supposedly guaranteed once fired , and pre sorted, nice!

Yeah, I love the fact that you can specify the headstamp you want at BrassManBrass.com

Thanks for all the good reviews guys. If you are looking for some true FMJ, we at Rocky Mountain Reloading (rmrbullets) are doing our best to stock some good pulled FMJ. Pulled bullets usually have some pull marks or other small imperfections, but they are a more economical way to get FMJ. We even get some very high quality jacketed HP at great deals. For example, we currently are selling the 230 grain 45 HST pulls for $190 per 1000 bullets. The only other way to get them is in loaded ammo that costs around $2 per round.

Also, if you have bought pulled bullets from us in the past you will be happy to hear that we are now polishing the pulled bullets to clean them up a little better before they ship. I try to make sure our service is the best in the industry so know that if you buy anything from us we back it up with a satisfaction guarantee.
