Hodgdon Clays or Universal Clays Lead Data

I am looking for lead load data for 9mm and 40S&W that uses Hodgdon Clays and Universal Clays. Two years ago I loaded some 9mm 125gr. LRN using 3.3gr. of Hodgdon Clays with a velocity of 1000 fps.. This was a low power, clean burning load that would reliably cycle my 9mm autos and a pleasure to shoot. I still have 100 of these round left. I cannot locate my data source that provided this load and Hodgdon data center does not mention it. Can anyone provide a source for this data. Also is it safe to use jacketed bullet minimum load data for the same type and weight lead bullets.

Go to the website www.impowder.com. There is a link for loading data that will give you a bunch of possible combinations of bullets and powder.

It sounds like you already have your preferred load, why do you need the data on it? As for lead vs. jacketed- there is a difference in loadings. Lead bullets obturate more easily and typically have lubrication- so they tend to go faster for a given charge than jacketed.

Why would you want to go through IMR's web site to get to the Hodgdon Load Data Site? Since Hodgdon, Winchester and IMR are all under Hodgdon's control all the load data is also being provided by Hodgdon on the link I provided above. While you can get to the load data site from all 3 powder company's sites why not just go directly to the load data site? Besides, Clays is actually a Hodgdon powder, not an IMR powder.

I go to the IMRpowder.com page, since it is in my "favorites" list. The load data includes Hodgdon, IMR and Winchester and all 3 of the "load data" links end up in the same place.


Actually, IMR is easier to remember how to spell.
