Checking out Choose The Blue's* webpage is pretty interesting. It seems pretty much impossible to avoid supporting "the opposition", primarily because so many corporations donate heavily to both parties through their PACs and employees. This fence-sitting, it would seem, is intended to keep them on the favored side of whomever wins at the polls.
It'd be nice if corporations would stay out of politics, but then that'd require politicians staying out of corporate matters, and for that to happen, the public would have to vote their conscience with their wallet rather than letting their elected officials do the dirty work.
*Disclaimer - yes, the linked site is blatantly left-leaning; however, I don't see why the data presented within can't be used in the other direction.
It truly is a shame that individual employees choose to donate to the Democratic Party, but it would be an even bigger shame if they donated to the Republicans. Democrats only hate ONE amendment.
Does it matter? Do you click on the sponsored links in Google, thereby directly giving the company--not its Democrat employees--money? Most people don't, and if you don't, there's no reason to change your homepage over something so trivial. It's not like they're socialists!
