I am looking to get a new shotgun for goose hunting. I am looking for pros and cons on a couple of different options.

1) Remington 11-87
2) Remington 870
3) Mossberg 590

I know that the first is more expencive, I just don't know how reliable the autoreload is. Thanks for the help!!

remington 870

Hello,

I've recently purchased the Remington 870 in 3.5" in synthetic with the patternmaster choke. I really, really, really wanted the Beretta Extrema 2 but I don't regret my choice at all. I don't feel the pump action is too slow at all and Remington do make the best pump on the market IMO. Last week goose hunting, I managed to empty my 3 rounds and manually fed a 4th from a side saddle and the geese were just out of range marginally. With a little practice, 4 rounds on a small flock is a definite possibility. I just received the patternmaster today so I don't have a report on it yet.

REMINGTON

I use a Remington 11-87 for goose hunting. I love it because it is very reliable, easy to use and I can make very quick follow up shots. Definately get the 11-87.

You may need a long magazine plug for the 590 for anything other than snow goose (or did that rule change?).
