I'll also add that I think a 4 to 1 ratio with 16 year old boys is too much.

At least one parent needs to be there. The whole time. Even formal organizations like the Boy Scouts don't put their volunteers in a position where one adult is left by himself with minors.

Your enthusiasm is admirable, but this is not a formula for success. Take them out, with a parent present, one or two at a time.

I routinely meet new people at the range and more than a few times have shot a bunch of rare/different guns that other gentlemen have brought. And I've always been willing to let others shoot my guns. As well as being willing to take new shooters and get new people involved in guns and shooting sports.

NO PERSON---NONE!!!---goes shooting with me until I have known them at least five years, and I will know EXACTLY what I am dealing with then.
Wow. I've taken people I've only met a few times to the range (their first time) and had a blast, taught them the safety rules and just had a great day. About half go right out and buy their first gun :)
