My Presbyopia is real bad now so I've been experimenting with Red Dot sights and scopes on a few handguns. Scopes don't seem to do much for me, too narrow an exit pupil on my Leupold, and a cheapie was worse.
So far IMHO the Red Dots I've tried all have too big a dot for precise aiming, but are fast to get on target. Got a Tasco ProPoint (your BSA pretty much looks the same) on our Beretta Neos. My wife loves it and its helped improve her shooting because it takes front/rear sight alignment out of the equation and lets her concentrate on timing the trigger break for when the dot is on the bullseye.
I have a BSA RD30 on my Ruger MKII and I love it. Make sure you use good batteries though. I bought a 100 pack of chinese batteries and most tested at 2.5 volts, while fairly well used brand name (Sony and maxell) tested at 2.8 volts. The battery really does make a difference! Also, the sun light here is so bright that I often can not see the dot, so I stopped by a local auto accessory store and got a small piece of 3m window tinting (they gave it to me free!) and put a layer on the front lens. Works great now, even in the brightest sunlight.
