Scope mount for 22/45

I bought a red dot scope for my 22/45 now I need to find a good scope mount. The receiver isn't drilled and tapped. The Weigand no-simthing mounts look good, not sure about the B-Squares. (Weigand costs less too).
Any others out there I should consider? Online sources?

I have an older Aimpoint mount. It is made or supported by MGS, these days. It's an alloy block that goes on top of the receiver and is held in place by the rear sight dovetail. It's very simple and rock solid. Not too expensive either.

I have a Clark base installed on my 22/45 and it is just great. They drilled and tapped the top and installed their base which allows you to use the iron sights when you remove the scope...without toughing the base. It really mates nicely with the gun. I would definitely recommend them.

I use the Clark base in conjunction with Millett rings and a Leupold 2x EER scope. It's a nice combo.......

In my opinion, alot of those B-Square mounts I've had experience with are junk by comparison. Well..hope this helps......

Hoping to avoid the drill & tap routine. The solow mount I had seen before but forgotten about. Wonder if they're still in business?

I have a 22/45 with a Bushnell red dot mounted on a B-Square universal mount. It slid directly onto the barrel/receiver. It's held in place by three bolts which clamp (squeeze) the mount to the receiver. It has a Weaver style base. It does sit higher, maybe ~ 1" so the base clears the rear sight, than the mounts which mount directly onto the receiver. But you do have to remove the rear sight on those.

I did not want to remove my rear sights and I can always take the mount off with the stock sights readily available.

This was the easiest for me.

Depends on what you want.

I have an Ultradot on my 22/45; I got it from Jack Weigand at the same time as the screw-on mount you're considering. It's (the mount, that is--though I like the red-dot too) a nice piece of work, in my humble estimation. Very secure, pretty light. Only beef, if I had to name one, is that it appears to raise the line of sight just a little higher than the solow might (hence the name, I guess); but it's not a beef that bothers me at all, and I didn't like the idea, frankly, of the goo involved with the solow. Folly on my part perhaps. My camera battery tells me it's tired, or I'd post a pic for you; just email me if you want to see it on my 22/45 (it's a 5.5" bull barrel)

Think I'll go with the Weigand. With a name like that on it you just gotta trust it.
The solow looks interesing but this is a blued gun and I'm concerned about marks the rings may leave.

I put a Weigand mount for a red-dot on my MkII over 4 years ago. It is still rock solid. You won't go wrong with one. That is not to say that there aren't others that are just as good, but there are some that are not worth the money you pay for them. That is never the case with one of Jack's mounts.
