I just put this S&W M27-2 on layaway at my local gun shop. I was not really looking for a new gun but this caught my eye. It is a 3.5" in a wood case. I figure it is around 98%. Dealer said he would take 400$. Now I have 3 months to figure out how to pay for it. :). So How did I do?

Here a picture.

I'm not a huge N-Frame fan BUT that sucker would have come home with me for that price even if I would have had to use a credit card!

You sly dog, you! That's a steal! I love the 27 and am looking for one in the 3.5 inch barrel length. Only, in Kommifornia you can't buy them retail. You can only buy them from an individual.

But you found a real gem.

You did wonderful! That is one fine piece of equipment!

I too just picked up a Model 27 just like yours about two weeks ago.

The short barrelled form is the most businesslike revolver I have ever seen.

I got some dies this weekend and created some Elmer Keith class loads with 158 grain and 170 grain jacketed hollow points.

With the 27 shooting them is pure pleasure. There is plenty of weight to soak up some serious power! I went with the Lymans 48th recommendation for 2400 powder under the two bullets and they definitely come out more stout than the loads I picked up at Wal Mart. But it is not painful to shoot and a couple hundred rounds does not make your hand sore.

I don't know why you can pick up one of these for what seems like so little money but you can find them with a little searching.

Great find!

I have been looking for a model 27 just like that since I was 8 years old. I'm thinking of breaking down and getting a Taurus 608 next year.

You did real good. My hat is off to you, sir.

I bought the same type 27, 6 months ago. Llke new with orig. cardboard box and stuff. $450. Yours has presentation box and it looks like target hammer. You got deal and a half! I've seen many 6" 27's for sale (and bought a couple) but in cruzin the shows for 15 years I've seen only 1 3.5" 27 for sale. I found mine in a high priced Illinois gun shop.

You did great! Bet you can pickup a quick $200.00 profit for it on the S&W forum with no problem!

Outstanding. You've taken the first step into a larger world...the call of the N-frame .357s is irresistible... I have three M27s. All the odd barrel lengths; I have yours twin brother, right down to the wood presentation box, the 5.5" and the 8 1/3" monster.

Now if I could only find a nice 5" M28 here in Cali... yeah... right...

Dear ssteven1:

WOW! BEAUTIFUL! I AM JEALOUS...

From the picture it looks like it has hardly seen any use!?! A safe queen maybe? You're a lucky fella' indeed!

Great deal, Great luck, Great gun, I love the short barrel 27's. I wish I could find another like that to go with my 5 inch model. Good shooting
