Hi guys,

Weekend before last was my birthday.

My GF has been traveling for work and got home last night. She got me a brand spankin' new 550 and 1000 pieces of new 10mm Starline brass.

The past couple of weeks I have been working up loads for the 45 ACP with HS-6 and for the most part am pretty happy with it so far.

I did a search and find that many of you use HS-6 for 10mm loads and have good results. I have typically been using TG or PP for 10mm, but a new press deserves a new load.

I need a few 10mm / HS-6 load recommendations.

Thanks in advance

BigSlick <-- Who is setting up the third 550 for 10mm only :D

Congratulations on the birthday...Let's see...That makes you older then me as I have no birthdays anymore...It means that I have to buy my own stuff, but.... :D

What is a 550? Only one I'm familiar with is the CZ rifle, and I don't think it's available in 10mm?

Never mind...I realized you meant a DILLON 550 press. It's late....

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume he means a Dillon 550 progressive.

To the original question:

As Lennyjoe said, Blue dot for range loads and IMR 800x for Nuclear loads.

My standard Range load is a 180 gr. TMJ with 10.5 or 11 grains of blue dot. I won't mention my 800x loads because they are slightly over max, but suffice it to say a .357 ain't got sh** on 10mm!

Ditto on the above loads. I use Gold Dot 180's over a case full of Blue Dot, Starline brass. I suppose 800X may be slightly better, but 1300+fps is good enough for me.

I also use Universal Clays or AA5 for routine stuff. They both burn clean, have moderate recoil, and meter well. No use beating up your gun or yourself all the time. I have a G20 and Delta Elite.

You might check out the 10mm forum at GlockTalk. Stuff by Mike McNett or agtman is good.

There's a lot of good reloading info on 10mm over on Glocktalk, under the "10 Ring". There's also a 10mm reloading forum on GT.

Yes there is and that's where I click in from time to time. Just remember though, start on the lower end of the manuals and work your way up.

Most of the 10 Ring loads are over printed max so go slow.

I use Blue Dot in the following:

starting = 11grn with 155grain bullet
my max = 11.5grn with 155grain bullet

My last batch was 11.2grn with 155grn bullet.
