I can't tell you how much I love the .30/30 - Levergun combo; it's just magic. I generally perfer Malins, but will confess that a 94 Winchester fits my hand like it was made for it. I can carry one for miles with hardly a notice. Congratulations on a beautiful rifle!!

if you are going to handload for it then it will be even more fun. 170 gr jacketed for serious stuff, 150 gr cast with trailboss for plinking, 125 gr speer hollowpoints for varmints and 110 gr carbine style bullets...well...for the heck of it. :)

I love my 20" 94 and my 16" src. for walking rifles...they are hard to beat.

They work well for me, at a great price. I tend to load them light, haven't really pushed the FPS. Trailboss loves the 30/30.

I have 2 1980's '94's a 30-30 and a 375. Love them. Would like to have a pre-'64. Also have a 9422.

My go to meat getter, though, is a 7mm Rem Mag.

I did the same thing Jimster, as I also sold a nice 94 years back and have regretted it since. I'm always on the lookout for one.

my first rifle and still have it is a Winchester 94 ranger in 30-30 and I also own a marlin 336w 30-30 I love the Winchester I got it when I was 12 years old and now 41 so its killed a lot of deer hogs etc! I still use it today I also reload for both of them I use the sierra 170gr fp bullets with 33.6gr Winchester 760 powder shoots excellent! plus I use 7.5gr trailboss with mbc whitetail number 4 .311dia 165gr lead bullets shoots great for plinking!! ;)

Hell yeah, damn nice score. I had the Winchester Model 96 in .44 Mag. That was a fun little carbine but a little too short for my long arms.

Great gun! Love it. Congrats.

Just picked up my new old 94 from the LGS yesterday. 1957 date, rear sight removed and replaced with a Williams diopter. Also have a nice .32 Special 94 made in '66.

Well done Jimster! Always wanted one but never had a Model 94. I did have a Marlin 336 til I had to sell it to pay for school. Was this close to buying a used (in great condition), Canadian Commemorative Model 94 but went with a Rossi Model 92 instead.

I used a 94 deer hunting for many years
When my eyes started to go I switched to a Rem 700 in 6 MM rem with a 3-9 scope.
I always liked the 94--great brush gun

The Win 94 has that certain "something." At least the cross bolt safety ones.
Here`s a thought. Put a Williams peep sight on it. Kind of go old school.
Put one on mine..................perfect.

You go yourself a nice, clean looking ...94.

The Winchester 94 is certainly an iconic firearm. Kinda like "comfort food" for gun lovers. My first one didn't have a hooded front sight though. I guess I'll leave it on since it came with the rifle however it looks as if it can be removed by sliding it forward off the sight base.

Well done laddie. You will enjoy it for many years to come. Ammo available almost anywhere.

If you get one of those little adapters you can shoot .32's in it for small game and plinking
