Well spoken, Titan6. I too am all for a person's right to express their opinion, but that person should also be ready to listen to my opinion. As myself and others have pointed out, what is being said is not important. Where it is being said, however, is simply disrespectful. This thread was started to honor the men and women who defend this country. If you have some personal issue with American troops or American foreign policy then this thread isn't for you. All of you have the right to express your opinions, but a little respect goes a long way.
Emotions about this topic tend to run a little stronger for those of us who have lost loved ones to this war. Even stronger for those of us unfortunate enough to have witnessed those deaths. Imagine if one of your brothers or sisters died in a tragic car accident. You were there and watched that person die. You saw them trapped in the burning car and there was nothing you could do to stop it. Now, fast forward a year and a half later and you are in the grocery store and hear someone making jokes and smart ass comments about the events that led to your brother's death. How would you respond? Remember that your soldiers aren't robots. They aren't machines. They are people. They have feelings. Try to be a little more sensitive. That's all I ask. I think that would be the High Road thing to do.
