All right, I promised myself one more 9mm and I got it down to two.
Beretta PX4 Type F (decocker)
CZ PCR

Both fit my hand good, both have decockers and they both cost about the same. The PX4 is 17 rounds compared to the PCR's 14, but the PCR is all metal. Don't worry about the looks, because I like them both. What do you think?

Here links to both

PX4: http://www.beretta.com/Pistols-Carbines/Defence/Full/Px4-Storm-F/index.aspx?m=82&f=2&id=802

thanks ahead of time.

I have a CZ P-01, which is essentially the PCR with a rail added. It is an outstanding pistol and actually shoots as soft or softer than my larger CZs, while also being just as accurate. Can't address the PX4, though it's gotten good reviews. Good luck with your choice, as it sounds as if you've narrowed it down to two fine guns.

I've been carrying my PCR since 2000. It never fails me. Accurate, reliable and more compact than a Sig P228 which I had carried before.

The PCR has an alloy frame and is the same weight as the P-01 at 1.7 lbs.

I have a PCR. Couple of issues that i don't care for:
1. The trigger pull is absurdly heavy. First thing you have to do is replace the main spring with a 15# spring. Original is a 20# spring.

2. The trigger travel is gritty as can be. Even after 1000 rounds.

3. I have "average" size hands and the grip is a tad too short. I understand you can buy $9 "pads" for the mag that have a small flare to fit better. But why should I have to do that after spending $600 on a pistol?

Other than these, it is a fine gun. I love the decocker.

I'm sure that you will buy the PCR eventually

If I had my way I would get both, but money being like it is right now I have to limit myself to one. Whichever one I get, I plan on getting the other sometime in the future, if possible. We'll see what the Big "O" has in store for us.

So far it's 10 PX4 votes vs 9 PCR

The Beretta is a more refined platform. Even the "new" PX-4 leverages off of the experience and development of the Beretta Cougar series from the 90s.

The PX-4 is pretty customizeable in grip size, the CZ is not. As noted the PCR trigger pull is insanely poor, the Beretta's is relatively nice out of the box and for a $2.50 "D" spring, can be made to be pretty darn good.

Twenty dollar magazines from M.D.S., a wholly owned Beretta subsidiary that makes carbon copy O.E.M. magazines doesn't hurt the PX-4's case either.

I say you should go for the Beretta. That will leave another PCR out there for me :) Seriously though, I have no experience with the Beretta, but the CZ is a great gun and I am sure you would be happy with it if you choose it.

My buddy owns a PX4 & I own a PCR ... having shot both I can tell you that both are good but serve different purposes. PCR is more of a CCW pistol and the PX4 is a duty pistol. With that said, my PCR shoots just as well and has been very reliable.

Although PCR trigger is not as smooth as the PX4, it is much shorter due to the availability of the half-cock which I really like.

+1 PCR :)

Not even close!...

CZ 75D PCR or P-01 best CCW guns out there... PERIOD!

If you are planning to CCW, I recommend the PCR since it has smoother lines and is a little bit thinner then the PX4, which has always struck me as being rather bulky. My view, when CCWing, thin is king.

Anythinig but beretta - they don't stand behind their products. as a tomcat owner, I know.

Well.. it looks like the PCR is beating the PX4 by 2 to 1.

thanks guys, as soon as I find the $ I think I will be going for the PCR.
