gorgeous pistol, nature boy.
i never took the mag safety out of mine. what i did, in stead, is stone the contact surfaces on the magazine(s) and on the trigger shoe (that gets pushed in by the magazine when inserted into the gun). you can see the wear mark to stone on the magazine. you can't see the wear on the trigger shoe, but i just put the stone down the mag well and stoned the shoe blindly. it worked for me.
on the bhp, with the magazine in the gun, the trigger shoe presses on the side of the magazine. when the trigger is pulled, the trigger shoe moves up rubbing against the side of the magazine as it goes. if the two surfaces are dirty, painted, rough, etc., the trigger pull will be gritty and rough. stoning these two surfaces will smooth out the trigger pull enough to eliminate the need to remove the shoe, imo.
also, it is much cheaper to try this first.
luck,
murf
p.s. i used a hard arkansas stone for this operation.
