I've never been one for the Colt snakes, more of a Smith fan. However I couldn't pass this little guy up, so now I'm the proud owner of my first snake. Sadly, it has been fired by the original owner, as you can see in the photo, and there are a couple of small spots of lost finish on the left stock from a holster.

Everything else is great however, gives a new, and literal meaning to the words "mirror finish".

BTW, the Colt fans among you will spot pretty quickly that it's not a Python. Extra credit to the first studious eye to name that Colt :D

I knew it wouldn't take you guys long. On other gun boards they are guessing away, but those in the know frequent The High Road.

Grats Sir.

Trooper Mark V.

I have never seen a BOA, so that is what it looks like to me.

Half right. The Boa is the Python barrel mated to the Trooper frame. Originally intended as a more accessible version of the Python, that notion went out the window when Colt only produced 1,200 total in one run in 1985. Half in 6", half in 4".

I look at it this way, if I do decide to start a snake collection, I got the tough one out of the way first.

"Sadly, it has been fired by the original owner,"

Are you kidding!? Why else would you own such a sweet shooting gun? Please don't make it the safe queen bbq gun!

I like your gun

I have been a fan of Colts for about 50 years and have several. They are a joy to shoot. I wish Colt would reconsider making them again. I know many people who buy them and then wont shoot them. Heck, I even hunt with my Pythons, they were made to shoot.
