I just bought my 4" Model 29-2 back from the guy I sold it to, years ago!

It's in excellent shape apart from a spitting problem caused by the rear of the barrel not being square.

The guy who does all of my guns doesn't have a lathe to turn back the barrel hood if it needs it, so it's going back to S&W as soon as I can make the arrangements.

It's the perfect "car gun", able to take out bad guys AND their cars! :D

Pinned & recessed, baby!

If you don't want the entire gun refinished make sure they understand this. S&W service often refinishes guns when that service wasn't requested.

A 4 inch 44 mag S&W is one of the best of the best for the all round sixgun. Used one for 8 yrs. Glad your's is back..........Creeker

It's a very nice gun. Once the "spitting" problem is remedied, it'll be nicer still. I love the old N frame Smiths. One of the first revolvers I ever owned was an M1917 Smith. The trigger was slicker than Bill Clinton hitting on a fat girl! :D

The guy from whom I bought it back thought I should have the barrel replaced with a 6 1/2", but the 4" makes an ideal self-defense gun with .44 Specials or moderate .44 Magnum loads. I bought the gun when serial killer Alton Coleman was driving back and forth between Chicago and Ohio. I used to take it with me when I'd go home on leave from Fort Knox.
