Although I have 10+ Taurus/Rossi Pistols and revolvers, I had only needed to use their warranty service once. Until I bought the Spectrum.

Out of the box, it had light primer strikes at least 1-2 out of every 10 rounds. Second strike capability is nice, but not if you rely on it to finish every magazine! I knew that I was taking a gamble, because this was a fairly common issue with Spectrum owners.

So I sent it in, fully expecting it to take 12 weeks like last time. Nope, not this time. They received it on the 12th (postage paid by them) and I got it back today. 2 weeks total turnaround. They replaced the recoil spring, firing pin spring, firing pin return spring, and firing pin.

I ran 100 (OK, only 98...it is a 7-shooter) rounds through it. This is the last 49 shot at 15 yards:

Not great, but OK for a micro 380.

I had gotten most of the grit out of the trigger through use, it is gritty again now that they replaced the FP. Trigger pull is heavy, at least 8lb, heavier than it was originally for sure. Sights are hard to see on a black target. On the plus side, it is MUCH more comfortable for a person with big hands to shoot than an LCP. The magazine design needs to be copied at Ruger, I'll try another couple hundred rounds, and if it keeps going like this, it will replace the LCP in the carry rotation.

I spent some time at the range with one, It was constant light primer strikes with different ammo. I shoot a lot of pocket guns, but for myself, I just could not get the accuracy that I do with all the others that I have shot. Maybe it was just the particular pistol I was shooting.

Reading other reviews, Light primer strikes seems consistent with the Spectrum. It would seem to be a easy fix. Stronger trigger spring? The good news, is the fact that it is a relatively a new gun by Taurus and will get better as time goes on. They are already ahead of the same gun in the aluminum chassis class like Ruger and Keltec. The modular design is a vast improvement over the others. They really need to get some decent sights and the ability to add night sights. Taurus is getting better every day and IMO will someday surpass their competitor Ruger.

Yep. the same thing happened with its predecessor. The ones with the letters "A" and "B" in their serial numbers seemed to be the "break-in" series; they pretty much had it dialed in by the end of the "C" series (mine's an "F".)

I agree that Taurus is getting their game on more, at least in product design. I'm eagerly awaiting my G2C, ordered a few nights ago. Maybe their CS will continue to make strides as well.
