Okay Pax, I just saw the part of your web site entitled "Keeping Guns Away from Little Hands - Disarming Kids Curiosity". I think I have my answer... hehe
Actually, I don't own a pink gun (yet!). I do own a personalized NAA mini-revolver with perlite grips -- named her Mini Pearl -- and sometime down the road I am going to own a pink & black Glock with matching range gear. It's on my lifetime list.
When we got the mini-revolver, I made a big point of gathering the kids around and showing them the little gun. The little gun looked so toy like, that I thought it was pretty important that the kids know it wasn't a toy. I gathered them around and started into my spiel. The kids all went quiet and looked at me like I had just dumped a bowl of cereal on my forehead or something. Finally my then-6 year old said, "Mo-o-o-o-m. We ALL know we're 'spozed to treat it like a real gun if we don't know for sure ..."
You should paint the trigger and mag floorplate pink or white. Maybe find a stainless extractor and maybe even do the sights white with a black dot instead of the standard black with white dot.
im not laughing......at you, im laughing with you.....
no, really....its a cute gun...
ive been tempted at those pink handled nickle plated taurus mini-autos....but they seem to only come in .22lr, and i'd rather have .25acp for better ignition reliablilty and for a gun with no extarctor....
$430 for a MilPro? I guess that is because it is pink and a special run for Gander and others. I commend you on finding someone who likes to shoot. I wish mine did.
May it serve her many years and serve her well.
That little (ladies) beauty is gonna be the least-likely gun to ever be stolen..
And be given the least amount of respect given, or believed, thru a BG's eyes, which is a good thing. As, when he sees it, and loses his concentration after seeing it, he'll start laughing, and just about that time, the element of surprise will turn in favor of the little lady and her "real gun" when the BG hears and feels its wrath..
Well thought out gift for her IMO. ~ Pink Panther ~ comes to mind
Now I know I can die! I have seen everything! I am pretty familiar with Taurus, but I have to admit I did not know they had that little offering. I got my wife a Taurus 24/7 Service Model 9mm she really likes it. Let us know how it shoots. What ammo are you going to use for SD with that 3 inch barrel? May I recommend the Remington 124gr +P Golden Saber or the Remington +P+ 115gr or the DPX 115gr. Oh I forgot to mention the Taurus 24/7 .45acp I bought on your recommendation is doing Great! I love that Gun! Very accurate-very reliable! Take Care!
