TINTON FALLS — The former Asbury Park police director has reported his gun missing, authorities said.
The gun, which is considered lost or stolen, was reported missing to Tinton Falls police on March 23.
Louis Jordan, who lives in Tinton Falls, reported that he had the gun with him on the night of March 17, Tinton Falls police said.
He said told police he was not feeling well that evening and apparently did not immediately realize the weapon was missing.
Jordan said he had the gun in a holster, and he did not know if the weapon fell from the holster, police said.
He began to look for the gun on March 20, and visited the two places where he had stopped on his way home on the night he believes the gun went missing, police said.
Jordan reported the gun missing on March 23.
He has a permit to carry the weapon, police said.
A few things about this raised my eye, especially just having moved from New Jersey:
1. How do you NOT keep track of your weapon?
2. How do you NOT know whether your weapon fell from its holster?
3. Whose butt did he kiss to get that permit to carry!?!?
