Tragic.

Don't know yet if he was involved in the altercation that started the shooting or if he was a good samaritan attempting to break it up. Similar to the armed black bouncer who got shot and killed by police while holding the suspect at gunpoint.

Lesson is, if you use your gun and the cops arrive before you've had time to holster it, as soon as the cops arrive, put your gun down and your hands up.

Protesters march after mall shooting; father says son had permit to carry weapon

The father of a black man killed by a police officer during an Alabama mall shooting says his son had a permit to carry a weapon for self-defense.

Emantic “EJ” Bradford Jr., 21, was fatally shot by a police officer responding to the Thanksgiving night shooting that wounded an 18-year-old and 12-year-old. Hoover police initially thought Bradford, who was carrying a handgun, was responsible. Authorities later said it was unlikely that Bradford had done the shooting.

A LOT of questions about this shooting!
The victim was apparently running away (?) and had his gun in his hand (?) and may or may not have made some motion with his gun as if he was about to shoot?
Originally it was believed he WAS THE SHOOTER so the officer probably believed that, so if the victim DID move his gun hand as I stated, the shooting should be viewed in that light.
Horrible for the survivors & family.

And "AMEN!" to the OP's statement to NOT having your gun in hand when the police arrive!!!!!!!

When the cops say “drop your weapon or I’ll shoot”, what they mean is drop your weapon or they’ll shoot

If i were a cop responding to an active shooter call and saw someone running with a gun in their hand I’d assume they were the shooter

In any event, every concealed carrier needs to consider how to deal with the police in the aftermath of a shooting.

Yes, it’s a shame, but you have to consider that responding officers do not have an easy job, especially in this scenario. I know one of the responding officers and from what I understand, he did not respond to officers commands, was running away and towards the crowd of other people running to get out. You do the math there. If he was just a Good Samaritan you’d think he would have listened to the officers. Aside from that, I’m also told that this man was a troubled individual and that this may have been gang related. At any rate, the crazy lefties have been all over this claiming another innocent black man was shot and that pro gun people need to wake up and realize a good guy with a gun doesn’t stop a bad one. They are using this as their propaganda and it’s already working.

It’s a sad situation, if the young man was innocent it is very very sad, especially for this family around the holidays. I also know the family hired the same lawyer that was part of the Trayvon Martin deal. Cop friend of mine says there is no doubt the family will get paid. What boggles my mind is that the police chief would have made any statement regarding any of this without the investigation and facts being concluded. That was a huge error in his part imo. For me, im not making any judgement or comments until all the facts come out.
