Well in the last few weeks ive came into my late grandfathers remaining firearms, a winchester 94 30-30 and last week a High standard hombre 9 shot .22 revolver. Now while they arent 1911's and ar15s they do go boom and are both in great shape especially for being free hand me downs. I spent last night cleaning them up cause they were both pretty dirty but now they are ready to go. The 30-30 is always a nice rifle to have and the .22 will be nice to teach my wife with and also just for plinking as you can get a brick of ammo for $13-15 easily. Anyways heres some pics let me know what you think!

I don't know anything about High Standard guns, but that revolver looks pretty nice too.

i think the serial number traced it back to 65 or 66? im gunna look it up again but its a top eject. Ive heard good things about older high standard revolvers but this is just my centinemental plinker so as long as it goes bang it will have a place at my house. Both have been preserved nicely by my grandma for the last 20 years

The .30-30 has probably killed more deer than any other gun ever made,and since Winchester stopped makeing them about two years ago,I've already seen the price start to rise.One of my first handguns [the others were a .22 Hi Standard model D semi-auto,and a .36 Navy BP] was a High Standard ''Sidewinder'' that looked a lot like yours,but with faux stag grips.Good times.

bmxr4life87 interesting date on the 30-30. That is the time my grandfather bought his, which I now share custody with. It was not deer hunting that caused a lot of those to be sold in the 60's. At least not from what has been passed down to me.

Its okay he died in a bulldozer accident before i turned 2. The 30-30 was in a nice leather/flannel lined rifle case and the revolver was in the top of the closet under a blanket. They both reside in the case now ready to for action. I just bought a house and am looking at nice safes to keep them in along with other guns i plan to collect. They are both cowboy guns and im not sure how many deer my grandpa killed with them im not sure if he was a big deer hunter or not? Either way its in really nice shape and i plan to only make it nicer. It is a 1965 model 1965 to 2894428 the serial number is a little higher than this.
