I was just wondering if some of y'all gravitate to one brand or style of firearm.

For me, I love my 1911's and have really started gravitating to Sig P series. I have a P226 Tac Ops that I just can't seem to miss with and feels awesome in the hand. I have a few plastic guns (M&P line) that while I enjoy, have been thinking of selling off to fund the purchase of a P229 Scorpion or perhaps a P227. The Sigs just seem to fit and were made for me. Perhaps even better than my 1911's.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I took a very long time and did a lot of objective reading before buying my first carry gun, the Ruger SR9c. It was the perfect choice... For me. I like the idea of consistency, so my next purchase most likely will be anothe caliber in the SR series.

Having said that... I'm seriously considering a Sig P290RS in the not too distant future. If I do, I'll stick with one or the other for carry, and practice will focus on that model.

I prefer Sig Sauer. I was just getting into handguns and went out to shoot with a co-worker and he brought along a P220. I shot it better than I had ever shot any other handgun and I loved the decocker feature, so I decided I wanted a Sig. My funds weren't the best so I got an SP2022. I love the gun, but still want a P220 or P226 eventually. Love me some Sig.

I gravitate toward the Glocks but it's just because I want to be different.

Even as a young kid I thought the 1911 was a darned cool gun, then when I was 19 an older friend said he'd give me an old handgun he didn't need anymore if I housesat his dogs for a week. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was a 1911... That sealed my fate, I've been a JMB fanboy ever since. 1911s... HiPowers... 1908 vest pockets... Etc.

Doesn't mean I don't like other guns, but I'll always love JMBs work. In particular, anything that says "Colt" on the side.

I have a slight problem with my gravitation towars Berettas :D

In the Navy I got to transition from the 1911 to the M9. Didn't much care for the metric caliber but liked everything else about the DA/SA M9. When it came time to buy my first handgun I knew I wanted DA/SA in .45ACP.

As for brands, not really. I am a fanboi for Ruger bottom feeders but have also wound up with a couple of other makes.

I have a bunch of M&P in 40S&W now.

However, this is not because I particularly like a S&W brand.

It is just coincidence that S&W is making something that meets my pistol requirement to the closest.

For pistols, I have only SIG Sauers now. Once you learn one, the others are the same. You just have to get used to caliber changes as you change variants. For personal collections aimed at utility, it makes sense to pick something that works and stick to it.

With that said, I seem to have no trouble at all picking up a glock, XD, HK, beretta, or walther and shooting it accurately from a static range. Trickier handling requires more familiarity.

So far there's only two guns I can't hit a barn from the inside with-M&Ps and the SIG P250.

I've gone through a bunch of pistols and have come to the conclusion that I have absolutely no brand loyalty. Single action target guns with short resets are the only thing that really interest me apart from my Walther PPQ, PPS and my S&W 629 which I have for concealed carry and hunting.

I am another that has no loyalty to one particular platform. I don't buy as often or as many as a lot of the folks on this board. I do own 5 different semi-auto pistols & they each operate differently. My most recent purchase is a Ruger 1911. I am discovering there is a lot to like about this platform but I am still learning it.

We don't really have "favorites" as such, it's more of what we want to shoot at the time. We tend to by Ruger (revolvers too), Glock, Springfield Armory, Walther, Browning and FN pretty much in that order of preference ... so far. I really like the FNS-40 my wife bought.

When we (mostly wife now days) are shopping for a gun, caliber and action come first and then maker. We do some research, decide what would be good to fondle and from there pick one out.

We like all we've bought and all have performed well. My wife's only complaint is the FN FNS-40 has really "aggressive" grip checkering but a glove fixed that last outing and a section of bicycle inner tube will be a more permanent fix.

SIGs, Glocks, S&W revolvers, 1911's, small autos, small revolvers...just about anything.

I've been all over the map with Brand and plaforms,In the begining If It was not a 1911 any size I was not too interested, many years down the road other
than range guns I prefer simple for carry and every day use striker fired.
Im not a fan boy but a G19 just works for me put it on and forget about it.
It can be ran hard and is accurate enough.

No loyalty for me, I likes em all. I gravitate to the great deals and I see where that leads me. And now, in times of ammo scarcity, having a whole range of calibers has REALLY paid off for me as I can generally find something to shoot.

For revolvers, an area that is somewhat new to me, it's Smith and Wesson. Somewhat pricey but a wide selection, well designed and constructed and nice that it's a somewhat/mostly U.S. thing.

My greater realization is around semi's. I have been a die-hard H&K owner. Started with P7's because their design is so brilliant and they work for a left-hander (me). Then USP's. Had my converted to left-handed and it is a great, solid and uber dependable gun.

The truth is, I don't think I'd ever buy a DA/SA again. It just makes no sense. Two different pulls, or cocked and locked. Less accurate when DA. Sad but it's time has come and gone. For me at least. I sure wish H&K would build a striker-fired gun.

I suspect the only semi that I'd buy in the future will be a Glock. Amazing reliability, wide range of models and magazine size. They seem just about perfect.

I tend to prefer compact pistols as I find them easier to carry than fullsize and easier to shoot that subcompacts. Currently, the SIG P250 has my attention as the modularity allows me to mix & match slide size w/grip module size.
Ex: Here's my hybrid SIG P250 9mm subcompact slide on a bobbed compact grip module:

Ive always loved Rugers. They are a great quality gun,but mostly its cause ive heard good things about their service.Realisticly say in the last 8-10 years ever company copies that glock looks, which im not a fan of.When i purchase a pistol i look at that company's customer service track record, look of the gun, quality of design, ammo availability.Long story short,no i dont gravitate toward a manufacture. But many people do buy what most people they know have

Have been making a conscious effort to only buy American -- Colt-S&W-Ruger and Mossberg have been getting the majority of my business lately.--meaning the last 4 or 5 years
