Great ammo deal ... retirement stash.

I had the predecessor to that one.The biggest problem was that to save the batteries it would go off after 45 seconds of no use. Also the weight reading would fluctuate wildly after the batteries got weak (about 2 reloading sessions IIRC). You need one that will plug in and stay on when plugged in to get aomething that you will be happy to use IMHO. I have a couple digital ones and still go back to my old Ohaus 10-10 equivalent scale. Gravity has not failed me yet and it works when the power is out as well.;)

My total for 9mm and .38 combined is about 7,500. Not sufficient for a long and happy retirement , but a good start , I think. I am not planning to cease all ammo purchases upon retirement , of course.

Anyone have experience with this product ---

Yes, that is the scale I have. I use an RCBS 10-10 for weighing powder, but use the DS-750 for checking bullet and case weights and any other quick check. It does drift some, maybe as much as .2 gr +/- over time. So if weighing many items I have to re-zero it periodically. But usually I am weighing things of 90 gr or more and that size fluctuation is insignificant.

You also need to watch battery/digital scales if you use fluorescent lights bulbs over your reloading bench; they can cause fluctuations and false readings. My RCBS 5-10 scale is going on 35+ years of flawless service

I'll be retiring soon , so I have been looking towards building up a good supply of ammunition in the interest of shooting more as I have more time but less $$$. (Hopefully there will be a good long time...)
I got wind of a guy who has been reloading , is also retiring , and is liquidating a lot of stuff which he does not wish to haul around in a mobile home. He had quantities of .38 special 158 gr wadcutters , and 115 grain 9mm for sale. Seemed like a trustworthy guy , retired military , organized , etc. I asked what he would take to clean out the remainder of his stash ; 1,800 rounds of .38 wadcutters , and 1,500 rounds of 9mm. We settled at --- $425. $425 , for 3,300 total rounds combined calibers. Comes to about 0.128 per round.
Tested the ammo , results were quite satisfactory. Very consistent , slightly on the mild side. Easy to put on target, no feed or eject issues.

There are those who say that you should never shoot reload other than your own , but I am very pleased. Don't know when I'll fall into a deal like that again ... probably never.

Yesterday was a good day.

I was under the impression that one cannot sell reloaded ammunition without some type of license. I could be wrong.

PSA runs specials on 9mm aluminum cased ammo for $8 a box with free shipping. 1500 rounds would have cost him $240( 16 cents per round).

The .38SPL is an exceptionally good deal. One wonders why he's getting rid of it so cheap.

While many may poo-poo the idea, a lot of those same folks will buy "remanufactured" ammo, which nothing more than reloaded ammo from a "company". I have before and it has all gone bang exactly the way it was supposed to. Sounds like you got a decent deal; probably should have bought his reloading gear as well.

I went into my LGS and asked for a box of SD ammo. The box it was in was Fiochii. I didn't look at it when I bought it but when I got it home it was reloaded. That doesn't do me a lot of good, I can reload it myself. Cost was about double my reloading cost. They didn't tell me it wasn't factory ammo. Big mistake on their end. Any future purchases will be someplace else. I might have been born at night but I wasn't born last night.
