I am planning on buying some 9mm ammunition from Dillon. It is made in Greece by "Olympic". 124g, FMJ, Boxer primed, non crimped reloadable, NATO Specs. Minimum purchase is 1000 rounds. It costs a little more than the Wal Mart stuff, but it's 124g which I personally prefer.

Has anyone bought this ammo before and if so, what were the experiences?

I bought 1,000 rounds of Olympic 115 grain 9mm early last year and shot up about half of it in an Argentinian HP, a Colt Combat Commander 9mm, and in a 9mm subgun. I heard bad things about it after I bought it but had no trouble with it.

I think I had a box or two of the 124 grain stuff earlier and had no problems with it either.

My experience with Olympic 9mm is limited (went through a case a couple years ago), but I did notice that there were typically a couple rounds in each box that had particularly hard primers. And yeah, I wish WWB came in 124 gr...

Ditto, PrudentGT. I shot a few boxes of Olympic 9mm a while back. Had some problems with hard primers. My local gunshop won't carry Olympic ammo due to complaints. YMMV. Good luck.

Went through four or five boxes of it a couple years ago. Accuracy seemed fine for plinkin' ammo, and I didn't have any failures.

It was really dirty though.

You can get the same stuff with "free shipping" for $119/1000 from ammoman.com

Wideners also is selling some south african PMP 115gr 9mm for $99/1000.

jgsales.com is selling s&b 115gr 9mm for $110/1000.

centuryarms.com is selling santa barbara (spanish) 9mm frangibles(100gr nato IIRC) for $79/1000... (flat $10 shipping IIRC)

That santa barbara is tempting as I can only reload 9mm for $73/case....

I got a case of Olympic 9mm a while back. Shot most of it through my CZ75 and a little through a Star BM. Every one went bang. Decently accurate. Clean rounds. Feed well.

I'd definitely recommend.

I have shot the Greek Olympic or Olympa ammo in 124 gr 9mm and 95 gr 9x18 makarov and it is clean shooting, snappy stuff. Would buy again. I bought mine from makarov.com
