I know the P30 has a certain collectable quality to it with some of the rimfire guys. I know it's been out of production for awhile too.
A local store took one in on consignment recently. I saw it but didn't look it over too closely. It looks good, has a low serial number. The owner is asking $1499. for it.
Have these pistols actually gone up that high in value over the years? Are they worth it, or is this guy being a little overly optimistic?
I didn't take any pictures, it's not my gun. I'm going to be watching this to see if it sells,or if he drops the price soon.

Walk in ask him if he will take $5 or $600. (Because that is likely what it is worth)

When he says no, ask him where he got them good drugs at because they are worth way more than that P30.

Of the 10 or so I've found that have sold in the last 4 months they sold for a low of $262 up to $499. 1500 is nuts. Some people have an exaggerated idea what some firearms are worth. At a LGS ran by some friends. One of the guys was telling me a guy brought in an old universal m1 pistol called the enforcer. When asked what he wanted for it they were told $20,000. Average prices are under $1000 for these.

Sort of like the Keltec Sub-9, the original aluminum version of the Sub2000.

Very collectible, i.e., much more expensive, but the subsequent versions are lighter, which to me is more desirable.

Has zero collectible interest to me. It’s an all polymer, much less attractive and modular add on capable forerunner of the PMR30 (more or less). Desert Fox above has the right idea. For that kind of money I’d get a CMR30 all tricked out as well as a matching PMR30 plus some ammo to run them. For $250 or less I might show some interest. At $1500 I’d question the sellers sanity.

Never shot one but have a Kel Tec PMR-30.
From what I've read the Grendel mags were made of questionable plastic and did not age well. Grendel mags are pricey and hard to find. And that price seems like it was made up.
Right now True Gun Value website says it's worth $349...

I considered buying one of these when they first came out just as a curio. Talked myself out of it.

Nope. Id sell one for that. Lol

I wouldn't say less attractive. Certainly no more attractive though.

Guns are worth what people will pay.
Yep.
I do metal fabrication on hotrods and custom cars. Years ago, a customer bought a 1932 Ford coupe with the bottom 2ft completely rusted away for about 55 grand.
Ford hasn't built a '32 in almost 100 years, if you want one you'll pay for one, in one way or another.
