I've been picking up hundreds of throwaway AA hulls at the sporting clays range, and I'm wondering if there is any difference between the Grey and the Red hulls. They're all brand new 2-piece hulls.

I wish I had the money like the guys that leave them where the gun throws them.

I used to wounder what the difference was but now I just load them and throw them in the bag together I used to separate them but now they go in the same bag.

Same hull.

I use the different colors to segregate loads. Early season Pheasant and Grouse and Partridge in the Red. Late season Pheasant in the grey. I never hunt State of Federal land and no longer waterfowl hunt, so I have no need for steel.

Cool, thanks guys. In the last bout of reloading, I ended up with exactly 12 red and 13 gray hulls, and ended up mixing them both in a box.

Don't know if they've improved in the past couple years but in the recent past the red ones split after a couple loadings. In fact a few split on the first factory firing!

they are the same - as mentioned, the only difference is the color - reload them and shoot them with great confidence - like the STS, best hulls out there for reloading
