I've been eyeballing the fnp 45 usg, but no body around me carries it. may even be discontinued. I was wondering if anybody has the .45, would they be so kind as to measure the grip dimensions - front to back and side to side.

wondering if it may be too big for my average size hands. Sure looks purty in the pictures on line :)

thanks for your help

I don't have the dimensions, but I've handled the FNP 45 a few times at gun stores and shows. It is a big pistol. It seems tall. However, the grip is pretty reasonable. Once it is in your hand it doesn't feel quite that big. I find it a better fit than a Glock 21 or the CZ97. It seems along the lines of the XD 45 or M&P 45 as far as the grip goes.

Try and find an article by Greg Rodriguez on the FNP 45. I think he writes for Guns and Ammo. He is a short guy, I think 5'4", and didn't think the grip was too unreasonable.

I owned an XD 45 and have handled an M&P 45. To me, the FNP feels huge and ungainly. There is no way I could use the pistol double action.
