I have a 22/45, specifically the P512MKIII. Other than a slip-on grip, is there any way of putting a different set of grips on there? I've seen something for the MkII that left the back open for takedown, anyone know of anything?

Thanks all,
Pat

You are out of luck changing grips with the 22/45. Like a Glock the grips are moulded into the frame. Unlike a Glock, you need access to the rear of the frame for takedown making any slip-on doodad more trouble than it'd be worth.

Why did you get the 22/45 instead of the MKIII if you didn't like the grip? The 22/45 is supposed to mimick the 1911 grip.

My (well-meaning and loving) wife gave it to me as an anniversary present a few years ago. I love the gun, don't get me wrong, but if there was one thing I could change, it would be the grip. Just curious if there was an easy fix that anyone knew of.

Thanks.

There was a guy over at rimfire central that started a thread there last November, asking if anyone was interested in a frame for the 22/45 that could use replacement grip panels. The response was definitely in favor of the idea, and from time to time the inventor/manufacturer kept folks updated with info, design features, etc. Then, after late June, one post about some problems and snags that he had run into, and nothing after that. So I don't know what to tell you except maybe go over to rimfire central and see what you think.
