Good afternoon all. I have an old police trade in model 64 that I'd like to dress up a bit. It has some plain black Hogue grips on it currently that I don't care for. I've been looking at Altamont conversion target grips(it's a round butt).

I know this is very subjective but can any of you give me some feedback on the Roper style vs what they call "Coke bottle" target grips (or other grips you'd recommend)?

Bonus points for pictures!

Thanks, monktx

For a Model 64 I'd prefer something a little more compact than the Roper/Coke bottle
styles. Here's two I saw on the Altamont site:

I'm also partial to the Magna style grips with a Tyler T type grip adapter.

I should have mentioned that I prefer a large grip although the magna grips in your first post have me rethinking things. I do like the way those look, they are certainly a step up from what I have now.

I like the Altamont conversion grips on my model 19. Works well with large hands. No problem with Buffalo Bore 158 grain mag's. IMG_20231104_170959_HDR.jpg

I've got a set of round to square, Altamont "Ropers" that I've never been able to warm up too, but I just put them on my 686 and they don't look or feel too bad. I guess I'll give them a try next time out to the range.

I liked the Magana grips on my Models 64 and 67 but for shooting the Pach's grippers felt and worked best
