Gritty trigger fix?

I just recently aquired a new S&W 9mm 910s. After my range session(today), I cleaned and lubed as usual. I was dry-firing with snap caps and noticed a slight "grittyness" to the double action pull that I hadn't noticed before. It could be crud in the action, as I shoot outdoors in the desert and any breeze could send particulates into a weapon. I use compressed air after cleaning to blast the crud out. Anybody have a "quick fix"? Thanks! Otherwise, I really am happy with this pistol.

Since you are in the desert - sand ( very abrasive ) and oil make lapping compound . Wears things quickly. You would do better with a solid lube and clean your gun carefully often.

Hansolo, have a 910 as well. On the first hundred or so rounds, did you experience any light strikes?

While firing the first 100+ rounds, I had two light strikes and
a misfeed (but I think the misfeed was because of a new mag, I had three of them and one of them would not seat properly.... you actually had to slam it in to seat).

Unlike my first 9mm(I won't name the brand -- too many CZ owners are overly sensitive!), I have had no malfunctions at all with the 910;strip, clean and lightly lube it after each session. The closest thing to a "problem" is, after loading a magazine, if I UNLOAD it, about 1/2 the time, the top round popped out of the mag....it doesn't affect loading; just happens if I hit the mag realease. I won't worry about it while breaking-in.

thanks. Thats happened to me too when I unloaded the mag in the middle of a string. Hopefully, it sorts itself out after the next 300 hundred rounds.

I was thinking to using lead loads as they're cheaper. Have you used these and any problems? Aside from lead build up?

Rob999 -- Sorry I took awhile to get back to you -- and the answer is, NO; I haven't tried lead bullets......I don't reload and I have only used copper and copper/brass jacketed ammo. I must say, after almost two weeks and somewhere around 600 rounds, I am liking this 910 more&more! I have still not gotten used to the sight picture...I may consider upgrading to either an adjustable rear "target" sight, or, on the reccomendation of a fellow at the S&W Forum, look into the "light-gathering" front sight that is an option from S&W. Not that the sights are horrible, I just think they are Fair-Good and I need a little more help with my Over-50 eyes!

Hello Han,

Thanks. I've got about 400 rounds through it now and things are looking up on the 910. No misfeeds after I replaced the recoil spring with a wolff spring. Same rating, probably a bum recoil spring.

I would agree with you on the sights. Can't get used to it either and am definitely going to change them if I can find some suitable replacements.

What kind of groups are you getting on the 910 from 25 yds?

Most of my shooting is at steel plates, but the occasional paper target groups have improved as I become used to the sights:
the best I've done, so far, is approximately 2.5" to 3" at 20 yards
...Which, considering I was used to a CZ with a 3/4" longer barrel ain't too bad. I know the pistol(910)is fine...and better sights will help.
