Ground Squirrel Hunting in California

Hey there, Lvcat from Las Vegas, NV.

I'd like to find a place in Cali that is driving distance (central valley?) where I can go ground squirrel hunting with 17HMR or 223.

I know that a lot of ground squirrel hunting places in Cali are up north, but if you know of any place not so far from Vegas where I can shoot, or where farmers would be happy to have shooters, I'd greatly appreciate your sharing the info.

If you want to hunt in CA, you'd need a CA non-resident hunting licence. A CA non-resident hunting licence costs $134.95. You can get a two consecutive day small game or non-game licence for $38.85. You need written permission, on a special form, to hunt on private property too.
