there was a post a while back. for some reason it was closed. i've been interested in this gun for quite some time but never heard much on it. has it been released in the us yet? i see a few vids on youtube of disassembly and shooting but nothing much. just because i don't see them stock in the local shops doesn't mean they're not out there. i saw a few on gunbroker so i'm guessing they're here. any feedbacks? only complaint is you need a tool to field strip. other than that, looks sweet with the factory mods like trigger and hammer. can't find magazines anywhere too. i'll give them a call tomorrow.

I read on another board that some of them got damaged in shipping--the beavertail bent up and interfering with the slide, so you probably want to make sure to check that out. Mine is undamaged and has no mechanical problems.

I ran across this thread a few minutes ago. http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1230266 It's from a guy with a lot more 1911 experience than I have(I don't even own a 1911 45ACP). Good photos and lots of info about the GSG 1911 22lr.

Haven't taken mine to the range yet, but this is a very nice pistol. Can't wait for the fake suppressed version that is due out sometime this summer.

It was my second time shooting mine today. I mainly tried Remington ammo this time. Started out with 50 rounds of Golden Bullet RN which functioned perfectly. Thunderbolt was next, my GSG 1911 didn't like it very much--had 4 failures to feed out of 50 rounds. Then about 100 rounds of bulk Golden Bullet HP which worked 100% except for one dud round. 50 rounds of Remington Subsonic also cycled without a hitch which surprised me a bit. I finished up with 50 rounds of Federal Game Shok which worked perfectly yesterday and did again today. I'm diggin' the GSG.

i went to a few gun stores around and none of them had it. seem as rare as my gsg5 itself, saw it the first year and not a single one a few years later. i came upon a savage 93r17 .17 hmr all black with heavy barrel and scope, exactly how i had wanted it for a fairly good price, with no hesitation i bought the gun. i just bought it because i had planed on buying one this season and i don't think they will be around then. i'll be keeping my eyes open for that gsg 1911, do they come with black grips? i much prefer black. are they even mil spec cause i did read it was made to be interchangable and can convert to the .45 acp. i will keep it .22 though.

I read on one of the forums somewhere that the first shipment of them was small, but the second shipment is supposed to be pretty big. Don't know when it's supposed to arrive. Some of the parts are interchangeable--switching the grips probably wouldn't be a problem. The wood grips that come on it are nice though. I seriously doubt that it could be converted to 45ACP, but then again I know next to nothing about 1911's. The frame is some kind of non-magnetic alloy even though the weight of the gun is not a lot different from a 1911 45ACP, I think. Not sure I'd want to be the one shooting it if someone did manage to convert it to 45ACP.

hopefully they're not made of the same metal the gsg5 is made of, feels almost like a die cast car material but thicker or some sort of pot metal. the finish was horrible cause mosquito spray accidentally ruined it. yea maybe later i'll look them up on gun broker, there is a few there already. also looking up the new kel tec pmr 30.
