i am sending in my bolt group to Ray tomorrow at ATI for repairs. the ejector hasn't been much up to snuff lately and has been causing frequent stovepipes and he said they will be able to take care of that easily for me

so my question is, has anyone had to send their rifle or parts in yet, andif so, how good is the turnaround time/repair quality?

rogertc1: i have slapped at least 2,000 rounds through i so far. ive noticed, with many other owners, that it seems to like to be fired dirty much more than clean. after a good thorough inner scrubbing it tends to have problems again. when i emailed ATI about this problem, they responded that since mine is a 1st generation it needs a riveted ejector, and offered me to just send the bolt group in for repairs instead of the whole firearm, which will be nice not having to go the FFL route.

NJ-Tom: thats exactly where i went to find out where to send it away to. i do like the AR-15.com site, but i somehow find THR to be a bit more refined and has people with better experience/knowledge.

I got my bolt assembly back from Mike and Ray at ATI last week but had not had a chance to fire it until this morning. I was able to run 3 consecutive magazines through it with zero FTF's, which has not happened before (i used to average 1 every other magazine at a minimum). The GSG5 has now reclaimed its place back at the #1 position for my favorite firearm and i highly encourage anyone who can find one in the shops to pick one up. its fun as hell and their customer support has proven to be reliable, fast and helpful.
