Ok, been looking for this one for two years now. All the ones I found everybody wanted a fortune for so I searched relentlessly and finally found one at a reasonable price. It showed up today, my grail gun. I owned a blued version some years ago, LOVED it but sold it due to the fact that I would not carry it afraid of wear and rust. That is when I began my search for this one. I am absolutely thrilled to have it FINALLY. It is an old model ruger birdshead vaquero.......now I only need some new leather for it.

Oooooohhhhh, Aaaaahhhhhhh

Dang them's some purty guns.

I LOVE that bird's head grip.
I think I'm getting a Single Six bird's head in 32 H&R Magnum next month.

SO, do you have a Federal Firearms License in order to legally receive guns in chicken wing boxes in the mail at home?

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe his local FFL, received it that way and generically said he got it in the mail? ;) The chicken wing box could have been in another box.

Please tell me there wasn't a bunch of chicken wing grease soaked into the bottom of that box! Your gun smell a bit like chicken wings now?

THAT is a gorgeous gun! I would really like to have one similiar as well. Congrats

That's too bad. I really like buffalo wings.
Is that the Sheriff's model?
I'd love to have one in .45 or .44.

RC, he might have just thrown it in that box for giggles.

BigShep85, I hope you don't mind that I use each and every picture in this thread as a wallpaper for my computer. That Ruger is pretty! I wish I could find one just like it.

Why yes sir it is the 3- 3/4" barrel sheriffs model.

You have my permission BemidjiDweller that what I use them for:D

<--------Postal Employee...... Maybe a box inside a box, but that packaging is unacceptable for the system. Yes, modern firearms can be shipped USPS, if declared to be so, and proper paperwork is done and ATF laws are adhered to. My opinion,... you are SOOOO much better to ship it Fedex or UPS. Much easier and may not wind up in Targeted mail bin which create delays like you have never seen.
