Guilt-Free Killing

I've been reading commentary about ethics and morals in hunting, here and at TFL since 1998. We're somewhere around 99.99% in a strong belief that any killing oughta be as quick and free of suffering as is possible.

"No suffering" comments are thus pretty much irrelevant to anything. It's just preaching to the choir and can be interpreted as arrogance, whether or not that's intended.

As far as "Dominon"? Tom Lehrer said it best (CD available from Amazon): "It's not against any religion, to want to dispose of a pigeon..." :D

Time for more coffee...

LOL....God Almighty put animals here for man to consume. I pray before and after my kills NO matter what it is. Yotes are killing machines,NO REMORSE there!

Only Guilt was when i shot an animal that i could not recover, & it was most likely mortally wounded.
1. Wingshot mallard, fell from the sky, and splashed away into some thick cat-tails... duck not recovered (had a few doves & squirrels this way too)
2. Archery shot -whitetail. found ~ 2 gallons of blood to bank of a swamp. no tracks or blood to follow, deer not recovered
3. Rifle Shot 10 point. very similair to deer #2.

I once had a cattle farmer that would not let me shoot coyotes on a private antelope hunt , because he said the yotes never messed with the larger cows, and they they helped with the prairie dogs. he considered the PD's more of a nusiance than the coyotes

If you've done much wing shooting at ALL, this is quite common, happens every hunt, lost bird or two, unless you have a good dog and even then it happens. Not much you can do about it. The coyotes and bobcats gotta eat, too, though. Hell, I lost one bird one teal season when I almost got to it and a gator came up and grabbed it first. Gators gotta eat, too, ya know. :D I got a limit that morning, anyway. I never use a dog, even if I have one, during teal season for obvious reasons. A few dogs have been lost out there. I'd grieve over that, I'm sure. But, it's natures way and you must realize that even if you're an atheist (not you personally, just sayin').
