OK, I know this needs to be gun-related, so;
(a) I once shot a guitar player in a band I was in (not really)
(b) I have a guitar that's really a gun (not really)
(c) I have carried a Ruger 10/22 w/ folding stock and a Redhawk
in a guitar or mandolin case (really)
(d) everytime I see a performer smash a perfectly good guitar on
stage, I want to pistol-whip them (kinda really)
(e) when I play my guitars I always have a gun in my pocket
(really, especially when I sit in w/ a band @ a party, etc)
(f) I keep my guitars in the same room w/ my guns.

Hopefully that covers me, so here goes.

Who's got guitars? Which one's your favorite? Do you play often?

I have:

Martin D-15 (all mahogany, solid mahogany top - my favorite)

Fender spruce solid-top acoustic

Conn cedar solid-top acoustic ($25 @ a yard sale, lots of
character, plays great, nice tone)

Gibson SG electric

Univox Les Paul copy (rebuilt it after finding it sticking out of a garbage can).

I play 3 to 4 times weekly.

That would be cool......... An electric guitar shaped like an AK-47 with a 30rd mag. I have a Ibanez acoustic that gets some 'fingertime" It ahs some interesting fretboard work in mother of pearl.

P.S. I don't think your thread is going to last long ..................

I played in a band from the mid to the late 70's, travelled all over the southeast and my Ruger Blackhawk in .357 Magnum was NEVER far from my hand. We played in an American Legion Hall in Drexel North Carolina and some guy got shot in the parking lot. Of course, we we're so loud we didn't know it until the local LE showed up and started asking Q's. As for guitars, the only one I have left is a 1960 Gibson EB-0 short scale. Nize axe.

Stay safe.

Had a beautiful

Mora classical, built in Costa Rica, shook the hand that built it, unbleivable tone....stolen along with my Marlin 39 in 1980. Got a sweet Gibson Dove, had for about 10 yrs, sold it and got another classical, an Alvarez with great sound. I mostly play classical and ragtime. My hero is Guy van Duser.

Had a nice 3/4 size Guild for a few years too.

Actually, while I don't play, I do appreciate the fine workmanship that goes into guitars in the same way I appreciate fine stockwork.

I've also got a friend who plays the 'bone around town - he carries, simply because he and his guys will be loading a few thousand dollars of equipment, usually late at night, often in bad parts of town...

Was wondering when someone would post a thread like this. I'm sure Skunk will chime in pretty soon. As for me:

- Gibson Gothic SG (my tactical guitar  )
- Peavy T-60 (which I had Hartley Peavy sign when I was at the factory on business)
- Simon&Patric accoustic (Seagul entry-level but I think sounds great)
- Dean 7-String
- Fender Mexican 5-string Jazz bass
- Fender Nashville Tele
-Gretch Traveling Wilbury's collector's edition electric

and I used to have a Fender Geddy Lee signature series Jazz bass

But I only have 2 guns right now :( , and two that will be mine one day :D

I once had a cheap guitar I got in a pawn that was shaped like an M-16....the strap that came with it had "bullet holes" with red paint around them.

My first telecaster had strap-locks. The strap that came with it had six rifle rounds on the strap that made it look like a bandolero. Not sure what kind. They look about .30 caliber, but I'm not sure what variety.

There...now it's sort of gun-related again... :D

I always wanted to emulate the Motor City Madman but alas my musical skills are very poor. No guitars here but I listen to others play.;)

Not only do I have a firearms habit to feed, I've also got a 15 y/o son w/ a music habit. Between his music & his band I'm well on my way to the poor house.
Anyway, in the last 2 years, we've collected a Squire Stratocaster, Ibanez accoustic, Takamine accoustic & a Epiphone Les Paul electric.

I play in an "oldies" band. And frequently carry while performing. Packing up the gear late at night in unfamiliar parts of town in a poorly lit parking lot is a good time for condition yellow.

-'73 Jazz bass is my "working" guitar
-'75 Guild D-35 is my acoustic
-'76 Sakurai No. 5 is my wife's classical, which apparently is a big deal.

My guitars are:

Taylor 514 w/ LR Baggs dual source
Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 in Black Cherry
Yamaha Handmade Series Classical
Fender Mexican Squier

I mostly play the 514 and my classical. I played classical heavily for about 4 years and now I pretty much have time to practice just enough so I don't get worse.
