Wilderness Inst. Belt - there's only one.

The others are Chi-Com knock-offs or domestic equivalents.

Picked up a carhartt belt about six years ago and it works well although the design of the buckle could be better. The actual belt portion is a leather inner layer and nylon outer layer, works really well.

I have no doubt leather belts are more supportive then woven belts BUT that is only a real factor with less than optimal holsters. I use holsters with wide belt loops, outside the holster body, for more stability. I use 5.11 instructor belts for carry. They are infinitely adjustable so they are never too loose or too tight. Too stiff a belt can be pretty uncomfortable if you ask me. I bought one of the double layer belts from 5.11 thinking the extra stiffness would help support the weapon but I couldn't tell any real difference other than it was less comfortable. I sure your mileage may vary depending on your body type/shape but that is what works for me.

Another vote for the Wilderness belt. I've not tried the other belts they offer, but the 1 1/2" 5-stitch is a top of the line belt for a bottom of the barrel price. A leather belt offering the same support would be many times the price.

I have one that is nearly ten years old right now. Still worn regularly, still supports the pistol just fine.
