I'm curious: What if guns were banned overnight. I don't know specifics, but bear with me here. How many of us would fight it? I'm not asking for comments from anybody. We all know we're being watched...:neener:

But would you give in, or would you fight?

(edited to add: Sorry, I meant to allow multiple answers.
Also, this is presuming a window during which they can be turned in. After that, the grabbers show up at your door.

Any legislation like this we'll know about well before it is passed and have ample time to form a resistance.

Very few LEO or military personel would stand behind this kind of ruling and would likely side with us, meaning the banners would have no one to enforce their law and this country would see a very quick revolution in which the usurpers (usurpers of our freedoms) would be tried and summarily executed.

Gun control only works by incrementalization because otherwise we get mad and take out the banners by violent resistance. We don't have to fear a sudden disarmament at all, only a gradual one.

In CA, I'm not so sure. LEO's here are very indoctrinated. I know a few and am aquainted with many. Most are very elitist, and don't want the peasants armed. I suppose it could cause the rest of the union to break off from CA, if enough people fight it...

I wish I could believe that but personal experience leads me to believe differently.

If they come to your house it's because you didn't turn them in voluntarily. Sitting around waiting to make a declaration would be begging for internment. You've already become a classification at that point. Did the Nazis listen to Jewish declarations before hauling them away?

As a current member of the military, if I was given an order to enforce such a law, I'd refuse and cite my oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States." If my superiors decided to remove me, I'd resign.

And then I'd take my wife, my kid, and my guns and head for Montana or some similar place.

If they Announced the begining of a Confinscation, and there was any proof that LE or Mil were supporting it, I'd flat out Dissapear...

Finding anyone who dosn't want to be found in the US is Nearly impossable, so if the SHTF (IE: LE & Mil turn on us Civ's), there would be a snowball's chance in hell of of finding any of the ones that bug out (unless they are stupid).

"Ooops, I lost them. All of them."
"What do you mean, ALL OF THEM!?!"
"Well, I've got to get going. To parts unknown and all. Bye!"

"Guns?"

"Oh those guns! Yow, you're about an hour late. Some guy offered me $50 bucks for them, and because there being err.... umm.... "nationalized" I sold em."

or something to that effect.
Nick

I would go back to "parts unknown" because that is where I hailed from when I was a Professional Wrestler.:D I was know as the "Thing". I had a good career but since I was foolish enough to wear a mask, I was easy to replace. I had a contract dispute and some other guy put on my mask and took my name!:banghead:

I would destroy them before I gave them to the Gestaspo. It would be better if it were my own hand doing the nasty deed than if some pencil pusher turned them all into scrap while being patted on the back in front of a camera.:barf: Yippie! Now there will be an end to crime.

So, roughly 52% of us would just roll over, in one form or another?

Umm Fienstien is a fine hunk-o-love meat, how could I say no to that?

BTW, I wouldn't hand them in, but I think polls where everybody declares how "Bad-A$$" they will be are kinda silly.

That's why I didn't ask for comments. If folks can vote anonymously, there's no reason to grandstand.

Although I find it frightening that not one, but TWO people voted to sleep with Feinstein's grey, wrinkled A$$!
:barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf:

Oh, c'mon!! That's just funny! What fun is life without a little smartassiness? (is that even a word?) You should know, you were the one who created that option. Be amused, not disturbed; I'm sure those people weren't being serious.

As Atek3 recently said to me:
Sarcasm, man. Sarcasm.;)

Rat Fink,
No worries.

If worse came to worse in the above scenario; then all bets are off. The Constitution as it was originally written would no longer be valid and the US would no longer be a nation of law. The country would have to start over after a big struggle that would be very costly and there is no guarantee that the free minded citizenry would prevail; but there are some citizens left who would fight and die to restore the original ideals and institutions that our country was founded on. The only question is how many would be willing to put their money where their mouth is to do it?
