Gun Control nut considers the "I Like Guns" music video "Irresponsible & violent"

Considering the fact that Australia does not allow Age 18+ rated video games, and is close to passing a bill that labels material featuring small-breasted women a pedophilia charge, "too dangerous for Australia" is a veeeeeeeeeeery relative term LOL
First you take the guns and THEN you attack free speech, media and whatever else. Anyway you slice it, this is an infringement on free speech and free expression. Thank goodness we have a Constitution. Lets learn from this and NEVER let them take the "teeth" from the American people. If they ever do destroy the 2nd, the very next on the list WILL be the first.

My view of pornographic material portraying adults-
"I disagree strongly with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." -Voltaire

Some of the guns are so dangerous that they are banned in Australia, meaning Mr Lee had to travel to Cambodia to film much of the clip.
So... he had to take a holiday in Cambodia?

For real...? So are they planning on arresting guys who have girlfriends or wives with A cups too, for suspected pedophilia. Are they planning on supplying free enhancements on their health service...
I'm not sure about with the healthcare, but I heard that they give enhancements to women in the Navy. Supposed to make them more confident. http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2007/09/australian-navy/

I'm a pretty regular reader of the War on Guns blog, where the article about Lee came from. Well just recently, he responded to the blogger. He claims that his comments were taken out of context by the media (shocker, I know) and he said that keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill was a good thing BUT that shouldn't interfere with law-abiding gun owners, because they're not the problem- something most of us here would agree with. I guess they cut the video though to exclude the second part. Obviously, the story is a little obscured here, but maybe we shouldn't rush to judgement on this guy- Lord knows the media takes comments out of context and twists them around all the time.

This video is an interview of Steve Lee:

There is nothing to be taken out of context because he's talking himself. Further, in an interview like that, the interviewee (Steve) has plenty of time to prepare and think about what to say. I know what I heard from his own mouth. He praises the Australian government for being stiff on people who shouldn't have guns. Unfortunately, Steve did not have anything critical to say about Australian gun laws. That's a shame because he had the microphone and an audience listening. I guess Steve feels secure that he can smile and wink at the Australian government and that they'll always "let" him have his guns.

I can think of many critical issues with Australian gun laws, not to mention American gun laws. I would surely suggest improvements to American gun laws if TV media gave me an opportunity to do so. Based on what I've heard and read so far, Steve seems like the type of person who wants to be in agreement with everybody, including the Australian government. Agreeing with everybody is not a good thing when it comes to gun rights.

I think steve got caught up with media pressure, since the media (Especially A Current Affair, the show he was inverviewed on) are generally anti-gun. I remember when a lady runing for senate for a libertarian party (Known as the Liberal Democratic party) accidentally said that they would end gun licensing (the party actually would end registration for long arms, special requirements for semi-autos, and introduce concealed carry and a right to own a gun for personal protection). The show afterwards said to people to beware about the party.

Also, if you watched the interview, the woman interviewing him did sorta put the words into his mouth..

You can watch the interview here...

Oh, and steve did clarify that he does support 2A and only believes in gun control to prevent mentally ill people, such as martin bryant and thomas hamilton to get access to guns on this article...

Fair enough. All I meant is that there is certainly some ambiguity. Maybe he is trying to play both sides, or maybe he just fumbled the interview. I'm not necessarily rushing to his defense; if he does support the draconian laws there, then of course he doesn't speak for any of us. But on the other hand, I know how intimidating and tricky it can be to give a TV interview. The man has generated a huge amount of (mostly) positive attention for our community- I just don't want to be too quick to crucify him.

I like the term "stain less" steel on non stainless steel firearms. Get it "stain less". Ha! I love it more when it used to describe a SNS made out of zinc alloy.
