Gun gift laws

I'm an illinois resident and may want to give a handgun to as a gift to a friend of mine graduating in tennessee. Anyone know right off hand if this is good with tennessee law or if it needs to go through a ffl there (I'd bring it in person). No problem federally is it?

Since this is an interstate transfer, the services of an FFL in Tennessee will be required.

Wdlsguy is correct. The transfer must go through a TN FFL, although you can personally deliver the gun to the FFL.

Be prepared to pay for the FFL dealer's service. Transfers run about $25 around here.
