Gun in shower

Isn't there a sort of Resin-coat 'gun paint' for sale? I've heard use of it on GLOCK automatics before.

I may be way off base here, but if you could get ahold of some of that, a dot of it along the apex of the trigger would give you a grip-point in a slick situation.

Thinking outside the box a bit here.

I don't have a gun in the shower stall, but I do keep a gun in the bathroom (usually on top of the toilet) and lock the bathroom door. I could definitely see why keeping one in the stall would be a good idea.

However, if someone is able to break through a house door/window, my bedroom door, AND my bathroom door in the time it takes for me to notice and grab the gun from the top of the toilet (don't even have to get out of the shower), I'm pretty much SOL anyway.

It's not in the stall itself, but on the window sill. It still gets spray on it.

Does anyone remember the show CHiPS from the 80's? Jon and Ponch speak to a guy who has firearms everywhere and then talks about his shower-gun...

Ponch: "You have a gun in the shower?"

Weirdo: "You never saw 'Psycho'?!?"

:D

You could keep the gun in a pair of white undershorts after you used them to polish your brown shoes/boots. It would keep water off, and would prevent anyone (ANYONE) from touching the gun.

Har Har. I wonder how many woman started keeping their bathroom door locked when talking a shower?

I was just checking in for updates...

I am sorry that you seemed to have attracted the typical 'common sense vs idiotic behavior' debaters...

***don't let the razzing get you down or get you angry; do what you feel is right to keep yourself protected***

I hope that my original posting was of some help to you...

I came up with another idea for you...if you plan on arming yourself in the bathroom for a long time to come:

1) get an inexpensive type of nylon ambidextrous holsters that fit different types of guns with metal belt clip

2) mount a bracket below the window sill (get a type that the metal belt clip from the holster will fit over) and mount the holster at an angle that you can easily reach

3) waterproof the holster with a spray silicone based waterproofer like 'camp dry'

4) the holster will keep the gun secured from slipping when you reach for it and dry from the splash from the shower (the only exposed parts will be the grip, hammer and the very back of the frame)

I also keep a gun handy when in the bathroom; I live in an apartment and can't really mount anything without causing a cosmetic scar that will have to be fixed before moving out; I keep a handgun on top of the toilet which is adjacent to the bathtub/shower and I follow the plan that I stated in my original response

Having had to keep weapons within arms reach all the time including when in the shower I can say a lil water wont kill it if you take care of it.Also I have beentold by several of the marines I went to combat with all I would have to do is step out of the shower naked to scare off an assialant(something about caveman, yeti, bigfoot, bear,or werewolf)

one shot one kill

The only time I ever had a burglar, he broke in while I was in the shower. Naked and dripping wet, I beat the tar out of him. A gun would have been a nice thing to have. I purchased a stainless piece and kept it in the medicine cabinet in a small box with a couple silica gel packets. Would do so still, except I have a small daughter now and prefer to keep the guns all secured or on my person.

gun on a rope

If you can't afford an armed shower guard, consider bathing less frequently, or stock up on a quality water rust/water repellant for your shooter.
