just interested to know what most of you guys are using to lubricate your weapons with? i used to use clp but after some research i switched to tetra gun oil and i have to say that stuff sure is slick and after i shoot 200-300 rds its still on my bolt carrier group still slick i think its very good stuff.

For internal lubrication, Ultimate Gun Lube is as-good-as lubrication gets. Link: http://shop.berryhillguns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=53 It has extreme staying property. It simply cannot be "wiped-off". To remove it, it must be intentionally, and thoroughly cleaned. In terms of quantity, less is more; more is less!

For external protection, I use Rig Grease.

Lots of people have the latest and greatest new thing but regular old Break Free works great for me on all my guns.

For normal lubrication nothing beats Breakfree CLP. For heavy lube jobs like shotgun hinge pins and semi auto bolts and op rods the old standby "Lubriplate" can't be beat. Been using Lubriplate since my army days a few years ago.

I've been using Aeroshell Fluid 18 for the past year or so. It's a thin oil that's very creepy and has good EP and anti-corrosive additives. It's also $26 a gallon as opposed to the $75 or so CLP runs.

Yep. The Berryhills lube is outstanding stuff. Anywhere you want a light grease, this is the stuff.

I know the guys that sell this stuff, so take that into consideration but I'm totally sold on Slipstream. I've been using it on my FNAR, my 870, and my CX4 as well as various handguns with great success.

I haven't used anything for several years but Eezox. I use it on all Guns, Knives, Locks, Hinges, Bearings, and anything that you want lubricated and not to rust. I haven't found anything comparable.

I have heard some good stuff about Slip EWL or whatever they call it. Its pricey but I have heard good things about it.

I use whatever is in reach. I have very little use for grease of any kind but will occasionally use wheel bearing grease or Lubriplate 105. Just about any oil will work in most every situation.

FP10, slip, militec.......all work well.

No use for CLP, to sum up a Mods previous post, it doesn't C, L, or P worth a darn.
All in one products typically work that way.

I use Militech and applied properly it works great. This is used on every firearm. Used it when it was only out for cars and trucks and still have my original bottle. Put it in my new 1991 Suburban when it was new and its still running like a champ.

There might be something better out there I just have not tried it yet in 30 years.

I use alot of spray stuff too. Heck, I still have cans of Sheath I use and that has not been made in years. I normaly use CLP or some other spray until I can can have the time to do it properly with militech.

Almost forgot CorrosionX www.corrosionx.com I keep that stuff everywhere so I can use it right away on any firearm that gets wet. I also use it on almost everything at one time or another. Very happy with that product and used it before it was even marketed for gun use. It is a very light lube but displaces water very well and I like the spray cans. Works well with Militech too.

Forgot to add. I use a food grade silicone called SuperOne that has a very volital carrier that evaporates fast and leaves a silicone film. I just use that on the outside of my 1911 mags.

Use it around the house too and on hinges of my car and locks.

It seems there are a lot of different lubes used out there.

I use Rem-oil, and Brownell's Action Lube Plus. Corrosion X has worked for me very well also.

CLP for a light lube, Mystic bearing grease for things that need grease and Remington's Moisture Guard VCI spray for rust protection.

Agreed.

I never use CLP. it's a compromise. Generally speaking, if you get something that does three jobs at the same time, it's going to be the proverbial jack of all trades, master of none.

I clean using a good cleaner (Hoppes, or something similar), and then use Eezox to finish it off. It lubes, and sticks like crazy. You can't beat it. I used it on the bolt of one of my mosins literally 2 years ago and have cycled that gun many times, but have not shot it since. It's still lubed up, and if I touch the surface, it's very slick even 2 years later.
