I don't know much about Montana, but didn't they pass a law within the last few years regarding firearm sales within the state not having to meet federal regs? A smart manufacturer, a smart retailer, and a smart consumer might find a way for all to benefit from that. What are the taxes like?
 
That's pretty neat, I don't know how many jobs will be produced due to the skill level needed. Regardless, more guns being made is good. Especially for the MT residents who will have quality goods in state.

I seem to recall a similar article about Ruger wanting to expand, but not doing so due to an uncertain political climate.

Yeah, the Montana Firearms Freedom Act. I don't see it holding up in court, but good luck.
